Clare Malarkey hails from Portland, OR and moved to NYC in 2008 seeking inspiration and the best education the hair industry had to offer. After years working at a prestigious Manhattan salon, Clare struck out on her own opening what would soon become VOE studio in 2017. She loves building relationships behind the chair while inspiring clients to discover a hair shape that fits their lifestyle — no matter how busy. Clare is expert in a diverse range of techniques, everything from straight razor, and precision shear, to dry cutting, texturizing, and barbering. Clare is also an acclaimed educator, teaching as a National Artist for Goldwell.

Zachary Jarid was raised in Salt Lake City, UT and has always been fascinated by how skillfully produced hair color creates artwork on the outside and confidence on the inside. With over 18 years of experience as a colorist, Zachary co-founded VOE studio with the intent to create a space where his independent vision could blossom. While on the journey to grow VOE, he joined the Goldwell National Artist team and travels around the country educating other colorists on world-wide trends. Zachary specializes in all shades of tailored and dimensional hair color that is meant to grow out seamlessly.

Lucy Jacobi is a master colorist with 15 years of haircare experience in NYC. She loves working with all hair textures, with a special affinity for curls. As a hairdresser, she curates a custom salon experience for each client, nurturing their specific needs and advising them on their path to hair joy. In addition to working at Voe, Lucy has created and consulted for several leading hair color brands including Goldwell, L’Oreal, and Good Dye Young. In 2020 she started her own home hair color company, Hairmood Kits. Lucy prioritizes making the salon a safe, inspiring, and radically inclusive space for all members of our community.

Celiann Figueroa grew up in the Hudson Valley and has always dreamed of becoming a NYC-based hairstylist. Celiann moved to Brooklyn in 2017, kickstarting her career at an award-winning Manhattan salon. She now has over 8 years of experience in the industry, mastering razor/scissor cutting, curly cuts, styling, and has already had the pleasure of passing her skills on to the next generation. Cels thrives on offering a personable experience while guiding her clients to look and feel their best. And, during your appointment you’ll have all the emotional support you need in the company of her pug Zoe.

Julia Taffet is a Senior Colorist specializing in natural lived-in color, balayage, and blondes. For the past 12 years, Julia has been a dedicated colorist and accomplished educator, earning runner-up in the editorial category for L'Oreal's Color Trophy. In 2017, Julia returned to her home state of Colorado to work at a leading Denver salon and launch her own coloring and cutting business. While there, she met her husband Reid whose career took her full circle, landing them back in NYC. Julia is happy to be back practicing her craft, living in Brooklyn, and starting a family with the recent arrival of her daughter Colette.
